As for the fat amounts, a tablespoon contains 10 g of fat which is approximately 15.4% of your daily recommended intake. The majority of people, especially those on the modern diet eat way too much fat – and not the healthy varieties, and doing so can significantly increase your risk of developing many harmful health conditions. A tablespoon of mayonnaise contains 5 mg of cholesterol, approximately 1.7% of your daily recommended intake. Too much can lead to clogged arteries, heart diseases, stroke and many other problems. Then, you have the sodium to be weary of. One tablespoon has 90 mg of sodium, approximately 3.8% of your daily recommended intake. Too much can result in high blood pressure and similar problems. Needless to say, these 4 major ingredients can be seriously detrimental to your health.

The awesome thing is that you can easily make mayonnaise at your home, right now, with common ingredients in your kitchen that are Paleo. Eggs, olive oil, vinegar, lemon, mustard and a sprinkle of salt and pepper (if you desire) will give you the mayo taste without all of the health risks and concerns. Now, the consistency of your homemade mayo will be different than the store purchased varieties, and it may be a touch more yellow than what you are used to. This is normal, so don’t let it catch you off guard.
